SUMMARY
We are currently seeking a Facilities Maintenance/Operations Engineer Intern to join our Facilities team. This temporary position (lasting 1 year) will work part-time (0.8 FTE) weekdays on-site.
Purpose of this Position: Under direction, an employee in this job class will be training under a Facilities Maintenance/Operations Engineer in performing work of moderate difficulty in the operations and maintenance on a wide range of complex MEP - Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing equipment with an emphasis on HVAC/R - Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration equipment. This job class will also perform a wide variety of other moderately difficult operational tasks including building/structural, welding/fabrication, and general maintenance work tasks as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
During the Internship the Facilities Maintenance/Operations Engineer Intern will learn skills associated with Healthcare Facilities Operations including HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration); Electrical - Emergency Generators, Motors, and Distribution; Plumbing - Layouts and General Repair; Medical Gases - Piped and Bottled; Pneumatic Tube Systems; Compliance - NFPA, Joint Commission, and MDH; Fire Systems; and more by training with Facilities Maintenance/Operations Engineers and Trade staff in daily duties of Operations.
