Position Description

Position Purpose:
Loss Mitigation Analyst will be working on volumes of defaulting loans, as well as working out complex approvals for refinancing. This employee will be performing review and negotiation of delinquent real estate loans, including resolving complex financial issues by providing borrowers with pre-foreclosure lending solutions. In addition to working with the collections department, employee will re-review files that have closed to see if there are additional actions that can be taken to prevent foreclosure. Employee will uncover issues and identify opportunities to improve the loss mitigation department.

Key Accountabilities:
This position will be responsible for outbound and inbound calls with clients to determine level of financial distress
* Evaluate financial information received and to determine the most effective solution for the client and the bank
* Approve or decline a workout within given lending authority and get management approval as needed
* Prepare necessary documentation to complete repayment, forbearance, and modifications
* Track and update systems as appropriate
* Service loans identified as financial distress, including deployment of workout strategies to bring the loan current or liquidate the asset in compliance
* Re-review and evaluate risk on all closed files to identify other options
* Review and approve all short sales and Deed-in-Lieu transactions
* Work non-performing portfolio from foreclosure to sale of asset
* Mitigate all potential losses to keep within acceptable loss range
* Request in a professional manner any additional information that is required internally to find what is happening with the current loans in question
* Review and/or create complex financial forms
* Provide timely feedback on the performance of different products
* Review borrower-provided data to determine ability to pay (eventually)

Job Requirements: (Knowledge/ Experience):
Being able to multi task is a necessity for consideration
* A minimum of 3 years related experience or the equivalent combination of experience and education that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of this position.
* Must have excellent negotiation and communication skills
* Knowledge in completing loan documentation
* Banking knowledge in lending, collections, and basic knowledge of foreclosure preferred
* Must be able to work in a call center environment and handle a large volume of daily calls.
* Strong investigative, customer service, and problem solving abilities
* Able to work independently
* Assertive and professional with excellent organization skills
* Great attention to detail in a busy and stressful environment
* Ability to catch on to information quickly and be analytical
* Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
* 4 year degree desired
